I arrived in Germany 12-10-10, and so changes the course of life we are taking.
Sam and I are very excited that we are together again, even if it is just for a short time.
When I first arrived it was quite interesting because I had carry both my bags (one doesn't have wheels) through customs and pray that Sam is able to meet me on the other side. I think it took me a good 5-10 minutes to walk about 50ft :), my bags were heavy.
I finally saw him and it was the greatest feeling in the world...two halves become whole again. We immediately fell back into life as though we were never separated.
We walk outside the airport and our ride has disappeared. Sam had me stand on the sidewalk in the snow (I only had a sweater on) and he walked around looking for the guy giving us a ride. While Sam was gone an American approached me and said, "Are you Sam's wife?" and I just stared at him...I was not about to answer a man I didn't know in a foreign country, then he said "I am Gary, I am your ride.". As he spoke to me Sam walked back up and we found our way to the car and back home.
Taxi's here are expensive. They are paid in euros, and we are paid in US dollars. Euro has a higher rate that US, so if we pay 15 euro for a ride-we are really paying 18 dollars for the ride.
We have spent quite a bit of money on taxi's since we got here.
We finally bought a car. Haans, as I endearingly call our German spec car, decided to blow a head gasket AND a hose at the same time. So pray we can get it in a fixed soon.
Sam has been able to feel Sarah Rose moving around every night since the 14th...it is such a special moment.
Christmas was amazing! We got to spend the day with just the two of us--granted we missed our families back home, but we were so glad to be able to spend our last Christmas for two years together.
So now as life here begins, I often wonder what God has in store for us. I know He has brought us here for a reason....and I know He will be with us all the way.
God gave me a verse before I came here: Psalms 70:14- I will hope continuously, and praise Thee more and more.
There is always hope in Christ no matter the circumstance...and I truly believe God has given me this verse because the next year and half will be a trying time.
Pray for us to find a church.
Love always,
Sam, Amber, and soon coming Sarah Rose
